It functions primarily to support normal fat utilization by acting as a carrier of fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they are oxidized and converted to energy. L-Carnitine supports normal cardiovascular function and normal lipid peroxide and lactate dehydrogenase cardiac enzyme activity. L-Carnitine may also support normal ventricular function and superoxide dismutase enzyme activity.
