About Banyan Botanicals

Banyan Botanicals was founded in 1996 in New Mexico by Kevin Casey and Scott Cote, former students of Ayurveda who ran the Ayurvedic Institute's herbal pharmacy for over a decade. Headquartered in Albuquerque, Banyan Botanicals' mission is to help people achieve optimal health and wellbeing through the wisdom of Ayurveda.

Initially operating out of Kevin's room, the company quickly expanded into a small warehouse to meet growing demand for high-quality Ayurvedic products and herbs. By 2003, Banyan had transitioned to a USDA certified organic facility, ensuring sustainable and eco-friendly sourcing and production processes. Today, nearly all Banyan formulas and ingredients are USDA certified organic.

Core to the Banyan mission are the principles of using certified organic and fairly traded herbs to create balanced, natural products that promote health and wellness. Central to operations are commitments to sustainable harvesting, fair vendor relationships, and minimizing environmental impact. The company partners with small farmers in India to cultivate rare botanicals like guggulu using organic, eco-friendly techniques.

Key product categories focus on herbal supplements and formulas tailored to Ayurvedic body types and doshas. Top sellers include the classical Ayurvedic formula Triphala as well as targeted wellness supports like Stress Ease, Joint Support, and Digestion Support. Banyan also offers essential oils, massage oils, Chyawanprash jam, and other Ayurvedic staples.
