Methylation supports normal genetic expression and cellular function. Methylation also supports normal hormone and neurotransmitter production, and energy metabolism. Optimal levels of B vitamins have been associated with supporting normal nervous system function. A combination of L-methylfolate, methycobalamin and pyridoxal-5-phosphate supports normal epidermal nerve fiber density. B vitamins also provide cardiovascular support by supporting normal endothelial function and methionine metabolism. Vitamin B12 and folate are required by the enzyme that converts homocysteine back to methionine.
