What Yin Chiao Chieh Tu Pien is Best For

Yin Chiao is a formula that is created to eliminate pathogenic wind, detoxify, clear heat, relieve thirst, diffuse lung qi, and benefit the throat. In western symptomatology, it is used to treat the common cold, tonsillitis, ear infection in children, influenza, rubella, hives measles, and chickenpox. For many centuries, herbalists have been using Wu Jutang’s Yin Qiao San formula to treat wind-heat patients that exhibited measurable fever, aversion to wind, chills, tongue with red edges and tip, and a fast and floating pulse. How Yin Chaio Chieh Tu Pien Works

The product uses a combination of herbs that is so light, yet so effective in treating a disease in the upper burner, which includes causing the stomach qi to descend in the middle burner and lifting the spleen qi. At the same time, the ingredients are potent and cloying enough to treat kidney and liver yin deficiency in the lower burner. Due to its compounds, Yin Chiao can have beneficial effects in the early stage of common flu or cold that are accompanied by symptoms of aching neck and shoulders, thirst, low fever, sore throat, swollen glands, headache or dry cough; even skin itching and hives. Western Medicine uses Yin Chiao for upper respiratory tract infections, measles, acute endometriosis, acute bronchitis, parotitis, meningitis, epidemic encephalitis, and acute tonsillitis, among others.

Yin Chiao Key Ingredients

Japanese Honeysuckle Flower (Jin Yin Hua) – It expels externally contracted wind-heat, and clears toxins and heat. Also, antiviral and anti-inflammatory.

Forsythia Fruit (Lian Qiao) – A herb with potent antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibiotic properties.

Mentha Herb/Peppermint (Bo He) – An ingredient with antipyretic and anti-inflammatory qualities that clears the eyes and the head, disperses wind-heat and benefits the throat.

Chinese Licorice Root (Gan Cao) – It moistens the lungs, disseminates lung qi, stops cough, and alleviates sore throat, especially if used with Jie Geng (balloon flower). It also detoxifies fire poisons, tonifies the spleen, and harmonizes the other herbs.

Burdock Fruit (Niu Bang Zi) - It benefits the throat, disperses wind-heat, disseminates lung qi, and detoxifies fire poison.

Schizonepeta Herb (Jing Jie) – In traditional Chinese medicine, it is related to the liver and lung meridians and has pungent and warm properties that allow it to stop bleeding and expel wind. Soybean Seed (Dan Dou Chi) - A mild diaphoretic that alleviates irritability and releases the exterior for both hot and cold exterior conditions.

Lophantherum Herb (Dan Zhu Ye) – Also known as crested grass, it relieves thirst, lessens irritability, disperses wind-heat, and alleviates Exterior symptoms. Besides, the herb has potent antipyretic properties.

Balloon-Flower Root (Jie Geng) - It benefits the throat, circulates the lung energy, transforms cold-phlegm, and improves the action of the other herbs in the formula. It is also anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antitussive, and expectorant.
