Women's Health and Fitness

Women tend to juggle a lot of responsibilities throughout the day and over time may put their health and fitness on the back burner.  Stress, lack of proper nutrition, lack of exercise, and hormonal changes can all contribute to low energy, fatigue, and other symptoms.  There are a few simple steps women can take to a healthier lifestyle.

1.       Sleep Getting enough sleep every night can do wonders for your health, at least seven hours a night.  Sleep lowers stress, improves memory and focus, reduces cravings, and can help you live longer.  Having trouble getting those zzz's?  Try unplugging an hour before bedtime or taking an herbal supplement, such as valerian which can relax you naturally.

2.       Diet Foods rich in fiber help balance blood sugar metabolism and improve regularity. Taking a multivitamin specially made for woman can help fill nutritional gaps, including folate, iron, vitamins B & D, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Magnesium helps support normal muscle and nerve function, but is also important to combine with calcium and vitamin D in order to maximize the benefits of calcium.

Liver qi congestion can cause a variety of issues, such as pain, distention, and masses. Emotion is an important part of breast health as well, anger, frustration, and stress can all counteract breast health.

5.       Exercise Committing at least 30 minutes to fitness a day can provide more benefits than just weight loss or a healthier you.  Exercise has shown to boost cognitive function, support normal bone function and flexibility, improves your sex life, prevents muscle loss, enhances blood flow to your skin, helps balance hormones, helps with digestion, and reduces stress, anxiety, and depression.  A regular fitness routine can also help with menstruation including staving off fatigue, boost your mood, decrease bloating, and increasing blood circulation which can relieve headaches and cramps.
