About Seriphos

People experiencing chronic or acute stress have their cortisol levels much higher than other individuals that can manage pressure and tension. Seriphos has been reformulated to its original formula so that it provides sufficient (and much-needed) adrenal support and a healthy stress response, especially during long periods of mental strain.

What is Cortisol?

One can say that stress sets off the body’s alarm system. Cortisol is the primary stress hormone, released by the adrenal glands (atop the kidneys) when we encounter a perceived threat. Through a complicated procedure, a small region in the brain called the hypothalamus sends a signal to the adrenal glands to produce a surge of hormones, including cortisol and adrenaline to help the body fight the stressor. It doesn’t have to be something too big or too intense. Even the minor hassles of the everyday lifestyle when you work hard trying to provide for the family or make ends meet can trigger the secretion of cortisol and adrenaline, with the first increasing the blood glucose levels and boosting the availability or tissue-repairing substances and the second increasing blood pressure and elevating the heart rate.

Importance of Keeping Cortisol Levels Low

It has been long established that cortisol, the body’s stress hormone, is the number one public health enemy. Experiencing chronic stress means that the body’s cortisol levels are higher than usual, which can increase cholesterol, blood pressure, and weight gain, as well as lower bone density and immune function, and interfere with memory and learning. Of course, this is just an indicative list of health problems associated with having elevated cortisol levels.

Studies have also found that chronic stress (hence, heightened cortisol levels):

  • Lower life expectancy
  • Increase the risk for mental illness
  • Make you more susceptible to depression
  • Decrease resilience
  • Increase the risk of heart disease
  • Can induce headaches and sleep problems
  • Can affect the digestive system

How Chronic Stress Affects Cortisol

During the period the body’s stress response mechanism tries to fight the stressor, cortisol curbs functions that are not needed in a “fight-or-flight” situation. So, it suppresses growth processes and the reproductive system, and also changes the responses of the immune system and, of course, our mood and motivation. When the perceived threat has passed, the body’s stress response system goes back to sleep. The hormones reach normal levels, both the blood pressure and heart rate switch to baseline levels and the body gradually resumes its normal functions.

However, chronic stress puts the body into a restless “attack” mode, which means that there is a continuous production of stress hormones, cortisol included, and the body’s processes are severely disrupted. In turn, this situation puts you at increased risk of several health issues, some of which have been described above.

How Seriphos Works

Seriphos is an adaptogen and adrenal support proprietary that has been enhanced with phosphorylated serine, a vital amino acid that plays an active role not only in the communication and activity between brain cells but also in the repair of stress-induced damage. Other nutrients of the formula also useful and particularly effective for stress resiliency are phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium. Due to its compounds, Seriphos can help manage chronic or acute stress and maintain normal cortisol levels during a “crisis”.

Seriphos Ingredients

As previously mentioned, Seriphos contains calcium, magnesium, zinc, and phosphatidylserine from organic sunflower seeds, along with water and hypromellose (vegetarian capsule shell).

Seriphos Serving Size

The recommended dosage is 1 capsule of Seriphos about half an hour before a meal (or between meals) unless otherwise instructed by your healthcare practitioner. If you have stomach problems (sensitivity), it is advised to take the capsule with the meal, rather than before or after it.

Seriphos Side Effects

Although rare, some individuals may experience insomnia (sleep problems) and/or hyperactivity. In most cases, refraining from taking Seriphos in the evening (only morning and noon) will smooth things out.

Additional Notes:

  • Drink plenty of fluids to increase the effectiveness of the formula.
  • Take one capsule, at least, 60 minutes before the time(s) of the day when you usually feel stressed.
  • Based on users’ feedback, the formula should be taken for, at least, 3 months to deliver the desired results.
  • Do NOT use if you are pregnant.
