About Pinellia Formula to Drain the Epigastrium

Pinellia Formula to Drain the Epigastrium is a Honso product that helps harmonize disorders related to the lesser Yang stage. The formula can effectively fight intestinal and stomach disharmony with Cold and Heat Complex in the Middle Jiao. This means that it will help descend rebellious Qi, balance the stomach, disperse clumping, masses, and accumulation, and relieve focal distention and fullness.

Pinellia Formula to Drain the Epigastrium can be used to treat loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, retching, dry heaves, and epigastric stuffiness or tightness with no or very little pain. Also, overall, the formula combines well with other herbal remedies that also focus on harmonizing lesser Yang stage disorders.

How Pinellia Formula to Drain the Epigastrium Works

As its name suggests, the formula targets the epigastric organs, meaning the organs in the upper abdomen part (immediately over the stomach). These include most of the stomach, and part of the adrenal glands, the spleen, the duodenum, the pancreas, and the liver. For that reason, the ingredients and herbs in the product have been carefully chosen to target a wide range of channels in the human body, including the liver, gallbladder, large intestine, heart, spleen, stomach, and lungs. This means that the combination of the compounds used in the formula contributes to the promotion of good overall health and wellbeing.

In Western Medicine, Pinellia Formula is used to treat chronic hepatitis, chronic gastritis, acute gastroenteritis, hypersecretion of acid that result in the development of ulcers in the stomach, and the early stages of cirrhosis.

Pinellia Formula to Drain the Epigastrium Ingredients

The product is loaded with the following compounds:

Ban Xia (Pinellia Tuber) – It contributes to the reduction of stuffiness and distension in the chest and stomach and effectively encourages directionality in the GI tract. It can also combat brain fog in people with Lyme Disease and help release stress and related symptoms, such as the feeling of a lump in the throat. Ban Xia may even ease fluid retention.

Huang Gin (Scutellaria Root) – A herb widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat inflammation, hypertension (high blood pressure), dysentery, insomnia (trouble sleeping), hemorrhaging, diarrhea, and respiratory infections. It may also be referred to as Huang Qin. The part of the herb that is used for these health conditions is the root (dried).

Ren Shen (Ginseng) – An ingredient that affects the lung spleen, and heart, and calms the spirit. It also helps generate fluids and tonify the spleen. At the same time, Ren Shen tonifies Qi, balances the pulse, and protects the body from collapsing conditions.

Gan Cao (Licorice) – It influences the stomach, spleen, lung, and heart and enhances Qi. It also expels phlegm, harmonizes the other compounds in the formula, resolves toxicity, stops cough, clears heat, and reduces pain while also clearing heat.

Da Zao (Jujube) – It nourishes the blood, supports the gastrointestinal health, promotes emotional wellbeing and calmness, harmonizes the other herbs in the formula, and tonifies the stomach and spleen.

Huang Jian (Coptis Rhizome) – Another name for turmeric. The primary compound in turmeric is curcumin, which carries potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is used to treat from chronic pain and arthritis to cancer and ulcerative colitis.

Gan Jiang (Ginger) – It treats External Wind-Cold-caused abdominal pain, disperses Cold Qi, helps the heart Yang, warms the womb, treats stubborn sunken Cold in the body, and combats irregular menstruation.

Important Notes:

  • The products should NOT be used if you are experiencing a condition related to Stomach Yin Deficiency accompanied by symptoms like nausea or dry heaves.

  • Always speak with your physician before taking any supplement, especially if you are on medications, pregnant or lactating.
  • The suggested use is one sachet of granules in a glass of warm water between or before meals (three times a day) unless otherwise directed by your healthcare practitioner.
