How Calm Spirit Works

Calm Spirit is based on the traditional formula, Heart Stabilizing Pills (Ding Xin Wan). It is intended to treat patients who present with deficiency of heart yin. Individuals who experience prolonged mental stress often suffer insomnia, restlessness, loss of memory, dizziness, and sometimes constipation. Hawthorn (shan zha) is slightly warming, entering the liver, spleen, and stomach to transform accumulation and stagnation; promotes the free flow of Qi and relieves stress. Polygala (yuan zhi) is aimed at tonifying heart qi and yin. Dong quai (dang gui) tonifies and nourishes the blood. Poria (fu ling) and jujube (suan zao ren) calm the heart and spirit. Dong quai and ophiopogon (mai men dong) moisten the intestine. Removing heat from the heart: ophiopogon (mai men dong) and codonopsis (dang shen) are added to tonify Qi in general and help generate fluids. Because stress may also induce anger, Chinese peony (bai shao) helps remove liver stagnation.

Magnesium is a natural tranquilizer and vasodilator and it calms nervous activity; it also acts as a catalyst in the energy production that occurs in cell mitochondria. Taurine has been used to control heart arrhythmia and hypertension, particularly under conditions of stress.

By encouraging a calmer environment instead of a stressful one, the calmness of spirit can be obtained while nurturing your inner self. Spending time doing activities that bring natural stress relief includes grounding or spending time in nature, listening to music, meditating, and being creative. Calm Spirit nourishes your Blood and Heart Yin allowing you to calm down, relax and sleep peacefully.
