About Yin Chiao

Yin Chiao is a formula that is created to eliminate pathogenic wind, detoxify, clear heat, relieve thirst, diffuse lung qi, and benefit the throat. In western symptomatology, it is used to treat the common cold, tonsillitis, ear infection in children, influenza, rubella, hives measles, and chicken pox. For many centuries, herbalists have been using Wu Jutang’s Yin Qiao San formula to treat wind-heat patients that exhibited measurable fever, aversion to wind, chills, tongue with red edges and tip, and a fast and floating pulse. Yin Chiao is based on the ancient Yin Qiao San formula and is particularly effective if used within the first 12-24 hours of the symptoms’ onset, mainly general aching or sore throat.

How Yin Chiao Works

The product uses a combination of herbs that is so light, yet so effective in treating a disease in the upper burner, which includes causing the stomach qi to descend in the middle burner and lifting the spleen qi. At the same time, the ingredients are potent and cloying enough to treat kidney and liver yin deficiency in the lower burner. Due to its compounds, Yin Chiao can have beneficial effects in the early stage of common flu or cold that is accompanied with symptoms of aching neck and shoulders, thirst, low fever, sore throat, swollen glands, headache or dry cough; even skin itching and hives. Western Medicine uses Yin Chiao for upper respiratory tract infections, measles, acute endometriosis, acute bronchitis, parotitis, meningitis, epidemic encephalitis, and acute tonsillitis, among others.
