What It Is For
TravaCor is a product that supports the inhibitory neurotransmitter system.
It is recommended for those with difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, highly anxious individuals, those with mood swings, and hyperactive tendencies.
TravaCor may be used for the following Treatment Strategies:
- Insomnia,
- Anxiety,
- Depression.
- ADD/HD for children and adults.
How It Works
Through a unique combination of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, TravaCor supports the effects of the serotonergic and GABAergic system and increases regulation to minimize the actions of the excitatory systems. Like Serene, TravaCor does not contain any amino acids that support the excitatory system.
Most patients using NeuroScience Targeted Amino Acid Therapy (TAAT) products have multiple neurotransmitter imbalances. Thus most treatment protocols will contain components of both inhibitory and excitatory products. TravaCor is a purely inhibitory product that increases serotonin, antagonizes glutamate, and potentiates GABA to improve relaxation and is taken at bedtime.
TravaCor contain just support for an inhibitory neurotransmitter like serotonin which can help a patient feel more content, calm, and relaxed, but they can also increase fatigue. The converse is also true. Therapies that just contain support for an excitatory neurotransmitter like PEA increase focus and vigilance but can also increase restlessness or anxiety.
The combination of excitatory and inhibitory components provides the positive traits and virtually eliminates the negative traits of each component. This buffering effect can be credited with much of the advantage seen with current NeuroScience therapies and the high rates of clinical success.
In most cases, the use of therapies that address a broader spectrum of neurotransmitters and include both excitatory and inhibitory precursors provide a better clinical outcome than the therapies that address fewer neurotransmitters or just the inhibitory or the excitatory systems. ExcitaCor and TravaCor can be combined in a biphasic regimen to first invigorate and then relax.
TravaCor contains 5-HTP to support serotonin levels as well as the amino acid theanine, which has been widely studied for its ability to provide a calming effect and prevent the neurotransmitter stimulatory effects induced by caffeine. These studies match observations by NeuroScience Inc. that theanine reduces norepinephrine, epinephrine and PEA activity/turnover and urinary excretion.
Taurine is another inhibitory amino acid in the TravaCor formula. Taurine acts by enhancing the effect of GABA. Together these amino acids can quickly reduce high neurotransmitter excretion. TravaCor also contains N-acetylcysteine to support sulfur-containing amino acid pathways including the synthesis of glutathione, the body's toxin neutralizing powerhouse and free radical scavenger.
In addition to being used in the Phase 1 of neurotransmitter optimization, TravaCor is also used during Phase 2 and Phase 3 in patients with persistent excitatory activity. Other ingredients in TravaCor are vitamin and mineral cofactors of the enzymes required for the synthesis of neurotransmitters.

Dosage
TravaCor 1-3 capsules in the evening. (Dosage may be increased up to 3 capsules twice a day.)
