One fourth of the ingredients clear heat and resolve toxin (huang bo, da huang, and shi gao); one fourth clear heat and dissipate swelling (mang xiao, chi xiao dou, and shan zhi zi); and the remaining ingredients relieve pain, and move qi and blood. Because, most of the ingredients in this soft plaster are cold or cool, it is an ideal one to apply to first-stage sinew damage where the foremost principle of treatment is to clear heat and resolve toxin. DosageSpread the soft plaster evenly on a gauze pad at a thickness of about 1/8 of an inch. Place the dressing on the affected area and secure with tape or a guaze bandage.
