What Travacor is best for:
TravaCor is recommended for those with difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, highly anxious individuals, those with mood swings, and hyperactive tendencies.
TravaCor may be used for the following symptoms:
- Low levels of serotonin
- Elevated levels of glutamate.
How Travacor Works:
Through a unique combination of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, TravaCor supports the effects of the serotonergic and GABAergic system and increases regulation to minimize the actions of the excitatory systems. Like Serene, TravaCor does not contain any amino acids that support the excitatory system.
NeuroScience TravaCor is a purely inhibitory product that increases serotonin, antagonizes glutamate, and potentiates GABA to improve relaxation and is taken at bedtime. TravaCor contain just support for an inhibitory neurotransmitter like serotonin which can help a patient feel more content, calm, and relaxed, but they can also increase fatigue.
The combination of excitatory and inhibitory components provides the positive traits and virtually eliminates the negative traits of each component. This buffering effect can be credited with much of the advantage seen with current NeuroScience therapies and the high rates of clinical success.
TravaCor contains 5-Hydroxytryptophan to support serotonin levels as well as the amino acid theanine, which has been widely studied for its ability to provide a calming effect and prevent the neurotransmitter stimulatory effects induced by caffeine. Taurine is another inhibitory amino acid in the TravaCor formula. Taurine acts by enhancing the effect of GABA.
How you use Travacor:
Take 1-3 capsules one to two times daily. Use under the supervision of a healthcare professional. If pregnant or nursing, consult your healthcare professional before use.
Travacor Supplemental Facts
What can be done if I experience an upset stomach while taking TravaCor?
Reducing the dose and/or taking the products with a small amount of non-protein containing food can reduce stomach upset.
What is the difference between TravaCor and Nuvoxil?
TravaCor and Nuvoxil have the same ingredients except for their forms of serotonin support. TravaCor contains 5-hydroxytryptophan whereas Nuvoxil contains L-tryptophan. As the direct precursor to serotonin, 5-Hydroxytryptophan typically causes higher serotonin levels with a quicker time to reach peak levels than tryptophan products.
Are there any contraindications with a 5-Hydroxytryptophan containing supplement?
I am getting anxiety/overstimulation when I take 5-Hydroxytryptophan. Why is that?
Some people can have a paradoxical reaction to 5-Hydroxytryptophan. This more commonly occurs in patients who have very low baseline levels of serotonin. Due to the overload of serotonin in certain brain regions, certain individuals may experience a stimulatory effect from high doses of 5-Hydroxytryptophan. In these situations, it is typically recommended to either lower the amount of 5-Hydroxytryptophan and move to before the evening meal or switch to a tryptophan product.
What the potential side effects of Travacor?
5-hydroxytryptophan can initially cause nausea or stomach upset. This is usually short-term and mild.
Products that enhance the inhibitory neurotransmitter system can increase fatigue in tired patients while stimulatory products may increase restlessness in anxious patients.
Choosing interventions based on neurotransmitter testing helps minimize these types of side effects.
